Wealth in Asia Pacific ex-Japan registered the fastest growth of 13.6 per cent in 2007 alongside Latin America.

The wealth market in China continued to grow rapidly in 2008, though the true effects of the financial crisis in 2008 have yet to be felt in numbers. Indeed, the Greater China region – compri sing of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan markets - is now home to approximately 44% of the wealth in the Asia Pacific excluding Japan region.

While the full impact of the global financial crisis on the growth rates of Asia’s wealth in 2008 has yet to be seen, China is also clearly the most important opportunity for wealth managers in Asia.

Crisis creates opportunity for the wealth management and private banking. Even in turbulent times, wealth management remains a relatively stable business and a valuable source of growing revenues. From risk to opportunities – Most wealth managers and private bankers have yet to take advantage of the opportunities created by the crisis to capture clients and assets.

The Wealth Management & Private Banking Asia 2009 provides the key elements to formulate Asia specific growth strategies in order to ensure success in today’s intensely competitive banking environment with extended communication ranges.
