China Shipowners Associaiton (CSA) is a trade organization composed of owners, operators and managers of merchant ships (and enterprises and unites related to shipping affair), who are registered in the PRC on the voluntary basis, engaging in water transport. It is registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC and has obtained legal corporate body status in compliance
with Regulations on the Registration and Management of Social Organizations. It has 186 members operating merchant ships of about 58 million deadweight metric tons. Its administrative body is the Secretariat, under which 8 professional committees and 2 branches have been affiliated. It was chosen through public appraisal as "the advanced national civil organization" in December 2004 by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the PRC, and its party branch was chosen through public appraisal as "the advanced party branch of social organizations of the general branch of the social organizations" in May 2005 by the Ministry of Transport.

BIMCO is an independent international shipping association, with a membership composed of ship owners, managers, brokers, agents and many other stakeholders with vested interests in the shipping industry.
The association acts
on behalf of its global membership to promote higher standards and greater harmony in regulatory matters. It is a catalyst for the development and promotion of fair and equitable international shipping policy. BIMCO is accredited as a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), holds observer status with a number of United Nations organs and is in close dialogue with maritime administrations, regulatory institutions and other stakeholders within the EU, the USA and Asia. The association provides one of the most comprehensive sources of practical shipping information and a broad range of advisory and consulting services to its members.
