Data citied from National Planning Commission reports that urban transport investment in China during �/strong>Tenth Five-Year�Period will be RMB 8000 billion of which 200 will be used for the construction of urban rail transit. Up to dates, China has more 40 cities in the construction or preparation for such as subway and light rail transit facilities in town. Moreover, the state has recently approved 17 of the city rail transit planning. Those 17 city planning by 2015 will build 65 rail transit lines with a total length of 1856 kilometers, with a total investment of 675.5 billion yuan. By 2015, completed metro line in China will reach 1,700 km with total investment of more than 600 billion yuan. Beijing and Guangzhou's investments are more than 500 billion yuan, Shanghai is up to more than 1400 billion yuan. By 2012, Beijing rail transit network will be fully covered by the Center City, operating mileage will reach 440 kilometers; Shanghai Rail Transit Line 13 will be formed with more than 300 stations and 500 km operating mileages.
