The first metro route in China was established in the year of 1965 in Beijing. After high-speed development over last 40 years, especially last 10 years, nowadays, China has had 10 cities with 18 metro routes in total length of 425 KM which is only about the same length as London Underground. Besides extension and new route planning projects undertaken within those 10 cities, there are about over 20 cities in china with 55 metro routes in total length of 1500 KM currently under construction or planning to build metro routes.
